Over Farmhouse was rebuilt in 1810,and several of the old houses in the hamlet were rebuilt or remodelled as cottages for farm labourers at the period. Over Farm was also part of the Highnam Court Estate and was purchased by Thomas Gambier Parry in the 1840s
In the mid nineteenth century, Over Farm had 330 acres. This followed the amalgamation of two farms at Over by Gambier Parry. This was all part of a consolidation of the original farming units, 25-30 small farms mostly of under 70 a., being reduced to six farms of between 200-350 a.
Today Over Farm is very much a working farm. Over the years it has diversified by having a Farm Shop, Areas for PYO and an entertainment venue with live bands, functions etc.
