Sidney Gambier Parry – (9th Jan 1859 – 17th Nov 1948)
Sidney Gambier Parry was a British architect, born in Highnam Court, Gloucestershire. The Gambier Parrys were an important local family that had a particular interest in the arts and military service. His career covered more than fifty years with many Gloucestershire churches among his commissions.
Sidney was the son of Thomas Gambier Parry and his second wife Ethelinda Lear. He was educated at Eton and spent one year at the Gloucester School of Art. He was also student to Sir Arthur William Blomfield for three years from 1878 to 1881. On 23rd May 1181, Sydney Gambier Parry became an Associate of the Royal Institute of British architects helped by the influence of established architect Henry Woodyer.
